Bij het grasduinen op wikisource denk ik dat het beste is dat de verkiezingsgegevens die Hoofdportaal:Verkiezingsgegevens hier gevonden kunnen worden best verwijderd kunnen worden. Deze zijn veel verder uitgewerkt ook beschikbaar op wikipedia en een ondermaatse dubbel met wikipedia hebben is ook weer niet de bedoeling, lijkt mij. [1]. --Asacha (overleg) 20 mei 2012 11:50 (CEST)
Update on IPv6 [bewerken]

The Wikimedia Foundation is planning to do limited testing of IPv6 on June 2-3. If there are not too many problems, we may fully enable IPv6 on World IPv6 day (June 6), and keep it enabled.
What this means for your project:
- At least on June 2-3, 2012, you may see a small number of edits from IPv6 addresses, which are in the form "
2001:0db8:85a3:0000:0000:8a2e:0370:7334". See e.g. w:en:IPv6 address. These addresses should behave like any other IP address: You can leave messages on their talk pages; you can track their contributions; you can block them. (See the full version of this announcement for notes on range blocks.)
- In the mid term, some user scripts and tools will need to be adapted for IPv6.
- We suspect that IPv6 usage is going to be very low initially, meaning that abuse should be manageable, and we will assist in the monitoring of the situation.

Uit bureaucratische rompslomp hebben we een stemming nodig om 2 extra naamruimtes in te voeren die het werk met de djvu pagina's kunnen vereenvoudigen. Dus hierbij een stemming, bij 75% voor is deze aangenomen. [2]

Als het djvu-systeem gewenst is, waar het sterk op lijkt, dan horen dat soort pagina's buiten de hoofdnaamruimte te staan, zoals een eigen naamruimte. Het enige punt van nadeel is de naamruimte "Overleg pagina" die hierbij tevens ontstaat en mogelijk qua naam bron van verwarring kan vormen. Romaine (overleg) 16 jun 2012 01:45 (CEST)

Per 13 juni zijn de twee naamruimtes nu aangemaakt. Nu dient er wel verder gegaan te worden door de situatie drastisch te laten verbeteren en alle problemen (genoemd op mijn overlegpagina) te bespreken, op te lossen en/of afspraken over te maken, zodat er een goedwerkend systeem komt op een manier die past bij dit project in deze taal. Zoals ik al zei ben ik bereid te helpen. (Sorry voor de vertraging mijnerzijds, de afgelopen weken was ik door persoonlijkheden onvoldoende helder om meer hierin te participeren, maar dat zal zeker gebeuren.) Great to see that you have the extra namespaces implemented. Can I suggest that you look at getting in place an Index: sandbox. You can see what I scrounged together at en:Wikisource:Sandbox/Index as a way to customise Mediawiki:Proofreadpage index template. We also set up and en:Page:Sandbox/1. Mobile view as default view coming soon [bewerken]

The mobile view of this project and others will soon become the default view on mobile devices (except tablets). Some language versions of these projects currently show no content on the mobile home page, and it is a good time to do a little formatting so users get a mobile-friendly view, or to add to existing mobile content if some already exists.
If you are an administrator, please consider helping with this change. There are instructions which are being translated. The proposed date of switching the default view is June 21.

Help decide about more than $10 million of Wikimedia donations in the coming year [bewerken]

As many of you are aware, the Wikimedia Board of Trustees recently initiated important changes in the way that money is being distributed within the Wikimedia movement. As part of this, a new community-led "Funds Dissemination Committee" (FDC) is currently being set up. Already in 2012-13, its recommendations will guide the decisions about the distribution of over 10 million US dollars among the Foundation, chapters and other eligible entities.
Now, seven capable, knowledgeable and trustworthy community members are sought to volunteer on the initial Funds Dissemination Committee. It is expected to take up its work in September. In addition, a community member is sought to be the Ombudsperson for the FDC process. If you are interested in joining the committee, read the call for volunteers. Nominations are planned to close on August 15.

Wikidata is getting close to a first roll-out [bewerken]

As some of you might already have heard Wikimedia Deutschland is working on a new Wikimedia project. It is called m:Wikidata. The goal of Wikidata is to become a central data repository for the Wikipedias, its sister projects and the world. In the future it will hold data like the number of inhabitants of a country, the date of birth of a famous person or the length of a river. These can then be used in all Wikimedia projects and outside of them.
The project is divided into three phases and "we are getting close to roll-out the first phase". The phases are:
- language links in the Wikipedias (making it possible to store the links between the language editions of an article just once in Wikidata instead of in each linked article)
- infoboxes (making it possible to store the data that is currently in infoboxes in one central place and share the data)
- lists (making it possible to create lists and similar things based on queries to Wikidata so they update automatically when new data is added or modified)
It'd be great if you could join us, test the demo version, provide feedback and take part in the development of Wikidata. You can find all the relevant information including an FAQ and sign-up links for our on-wiki newsletter on the Wikidata page on Meta.

Fundraising localization: volunteers from outside the USA needed [bewerken]

Hello All,
The Wikimedia Foundation's Fundraising team have begun our 'User Experience' project, with the goal of understanding the donation experience in different countries outside the USA and enhancing the localization of our donation pages. I am searching for volunteers to spend 30 minutes on a Skype chat with me, reviewing their own country's donation pages. It will be done on a 'usability' format (I will ask you to read the text and go through the donation flow) and will be asking your feedback in the meanwhile.
The only pre-requisite is for the volunteer to actually live in the country and to have access to at least one donation method that we offer for that country (mainly credit/debit card, but also real-time banking like IDEAL, E-wallets, etc...) so we can do a live test and see if the donation goes through. All volunteers will be reimbursed of the donations that eventually succeed (and they will be low amounts, like 1-2 dollars)
By helping us you are actually helping thousands of people to support our mission of free knowledge across the world. Folia rijmbijbel verwijderen [bewerken]
Ik heb de transcriptie van de Middelnederlandse Rijmbijbel van Jacob van Maerlant die ik op Wikisource aan het plaatsen ben, na rijp beraad anders ingedeeld namelijk per boek in plaats van per folium. Dit heeft als resultaat dat er een honderdtal pagina's op wikisource staan met als naam "Rijmbijbel/Folio xx" waar xx een nummer is gaande van 2 tot 103. Die pagina's hebben geen enkel nut of doel meer gezien ze in de nieuwe indeling samengenomen zijn per boek, de nieuwe pagina "Rijmbijbel/Genesis" bestaat uit de inhoud van "Rijmbijbel/Folio 2" tot en met "Rijmbijbel/Folio 20". Kan ik (of iemand) die overbodige pagina's verwijderen? Voor de bewerkingsgeschiedenis moeten ze echt niet blijven staan, ze zijn allemaal aangemaakt door "Jempi", mijn oude userid indertijd specifiek gemaakt voor Wikisource, en eventueel gewijzigd door Jpemery mijn algemene userid afkomstig van Wikipedia. Anderzijds zijn Folio 1 t/m Folio 11 destijds door Asacha gerenamed naar Rijmbijbel/Folio 1 t/m 11. Voor de rest heeft niemand de folia van de rijmbijbel gewijzigd en worden er dus ook van niemand bijdragen uit de historiek gewist. Alternatief kan ik van alle "Folio" subpagina's doorverwijzingen maken maar dat vindt ik geen elegante oplossing. Kan iemand hierbij helpen?Jpemery (overleg) 13 dec 2012 16:36 (CET)

Een half jaar geleden is het jaarplan en de begroting van Wikimedia Nederland (WMNL) voor het jaar 2013 vastgesteld door de Algemene Ledenvergadering (ALV). Op basis daarvan is een subsidie aangevraagd bij de Funds Dissemination Committee (FDC) van de Wikimedia Foundation (WMF) middels een proposal form. De board van de WMF heeft de aanvraag gedeeltelijk toegekend in overeenstemming met de aanbeveling van de FDC.
Over een half jaar, dat is voor 1 oktober 2013, dient WMNL een proposal form bij de FDC in te dienen voor het jaar 2014. Net als vorig jaar wil WMNL dat doen op basis van een door de leden tijdens een ALV vastgesteld jaarplan en begroting. Tijdens de ALV van 23 maart 2013 is de volgende motie vastgesteld: "Het begrotingsproces dient zoveel mogelijk open en transparant te verlopen. Leden worden, zowel aan aan het begin van als gedurende het proces om tot een ontwerpbegroting te komen, om hun input gevraagd en actief betrokken," zie daarvoor ook de concept-notulen van de ALV 23 maart 2013. Op WikiZaterdag 4 mei 2013 presenteren de onderzoekers van Motivaction de resultaten van een survey gehouden onder gebruikers van Wikipedia. Dat onderzoek en de discussie daarover zal mede input zijn voor jaarplan 2014. Kom ook, en discussieer mee!
De pagina jaarplan 2014 op de wiki van de vereniging staat open voor ieders bijdragen met ideeën over wat WMNL wel of niet zou moeten doen in het jaar 2014. Er is een nieuw voorstel gedaan op Meta-wiki over de verwijdering van moderatorrechten van Wikimedianen die langdurig inactief zijn. Algemeen gezien geldt dit voorstel alleen voor wiki's die geen procedures hebben waarin de moderatoren worden geëvalueerd.
We stellen ook een lijst van projecten samen waarop reeds procedures bestaan om inactieve moderatoren te verwijderen. Voel u vrij om uw project(en) aan de lijst toe te voegen als er een beleid bestaat voor inactieve moderatoren.
Alle input is van harte welkom. De discussie kan reeds op 17 mei 2013 (2013-05-17) worden afgerond, maar zal indien nodig worden verlengd.

Omdat ik van vele lezers van mijn artikelen op Wikipedia de vraag kreeg waarom ik anoniem schreef op Wikipedia heb ik mijn naam op Wikipedia veranderd van Jpemery naar Jean-Pierre Remy. Wikisource vision development: News April 2013 [bewerken]

Dear Wikisourcerors, it has been almost a month since we have started with the Elaborate Wikisource strategic vision grant and we would like to share some news with you:
- The Wikisource vision development pages are open to discussion. Specially important: what do you think of creating together an international Wikisource User Group?
- In case some Wikisources want to use Wikidata to store book metadata and share it with Commons, we have started Wikidata:Books task force to decide which properties are needed. We think it's very important to discuss book metadata there, both for Wikisource and for all other projects.
- We also started some relevant Requests for Comments for Wikisource:
- Interproject links interface: how can we improve sister projects visibility?
- Musical score transcription project proposal: now that Extension:Score allows musical scores both in Wikipedia and in Wikisource (example 1, example 2), we need to define where we want music sheets to be hosted.
- We are following and promoting a Google Summer of Code project for Wikisource: Improve support for book structures. We are also helping to convert the UploadWizard customisation for books proposal into another GSoC.
- First contacts have been initiated with Open Library, Internet Archive and Open Knowledge Foundation for possible partnerships. Please check out this page.
And that's it for now! During the month of May, we (Aubrey and Micru) would like to organize at least one Skype or Google Hangout meeting for the users of each one of the 10 biggest wikisources plus another one or two for the other languages (depending on interest). We want to know your opinion on what Wikisource should become in the next years.

The default position of the "edit" link in page section headers is going to change soon. The "edit" link will be positioned adjacent to the page header text rather than floating opposite it.
Section edit links will be to the immediate right of section titles, instead of on the far right. If you're an editor of one of the wikis which already implemented this change, nothing will substantially change for you; however, scripts and gadgets depending on the previous implementation of section edit links will have to be adjusted to continue working; however, nothing else should break even if they are not updated in time.

Ideas to do this all the way to 2009 at least. It is often difficult to track which of several potential section edit links on the far right is associated with the correct section, and many readers and anonymous or new editors may even be failing to notice section edit links at all, since they read section titles, which are far away from the links.

Behoud is dus net zo belangrijk als werven. Met name wat betreft het behouden van vrijwilligers zijn verbeteringen te behalen door de vereniging, want ruim een kwart is ontevreden over de werksfeer binnen Wikipedia en ook ontevreden over de onderlinge communicatie tussen de bewerkers. Sommige pleiten voor meer toezicht vanuit WMNL, door bijvoorbeeld alleen geregistreerde personen te laten bijdragen. Ook zouden wellicht richtlijnen voor bijdragers kunnen helpen bij het verbeteren van de collegialiteit." Op WikiZaterdag 4 mei 2013 hebben de onderzoekers de resultaten van het onderzoek gepresenteerd. Graag ga ik over voorgaande het gesprek aan, bijvoorbeeld tijdens Wikipedia-café. De vereniging is in de gelukkige omstandigheid te beschikken over een budget van enkele honderdduizenden euro en heeft een kantoor in Utrecht waar inmiddels vijf enthousiaste mensen werken, mede om jullie bewerkers van Wikipedia te ondersteunen. Op WikiZaterdag 15 juni 2013 is er een brainstorm met bestuur, leden en vrijwilligers over voortgang strategie, voortgang jaarplan, ideeën leden en vrijwilligers voor activiteiten jaarplan 2014 en begroting 2014. - The latest version of MediaWiki (version 1.22/wmf4) was added to non-Wikipedia wikis on May 13, and to the English Wikipedia (with a Wikidata software update) on May 20. It will be updated on all other Wikipedia sites on May 22. [3] [4]
- A software update will perhaps result in temporary issues with images. Please report any problems you notice. [5]
- MediaWiki recognizes links in twelve new schemes. Users can now link to SSH, XMPP and Bitcoin directly from wikicode. [6]
- VisualEditor was added to all content namespaces on mediawiki.org on May 20. [7]
- A new extension ("TemplateData") was added to all Wikipedia sites on May 20. It will allow a future version of VisualEditor to edit templates. [8]
- New sites: Greek Wikivoyage and Venetian Wiktionary joined the Wikimedia family last week; the total number of project wikis is now 794. [9] [10]
- The logo of 18 Wikipedias was changed to version 2.0 in a third group of updates. [11]
- The UploadWizard on Commons now shows links to the old upload form in 55 languages (bug 33513). [12]
- Future software changes
- The next version of MediaWiki (version 1.22/wmf5) will be added to Wikimedia sites starting on May 27. [13]
- An updated version of Notifications, with new features and fewer bugs, will be added to the English Wikipedia on May 23. [14]
- The final version of the "single user login" (which allows people to use the same username on different Wikimedia wikis) is moved to August 2013. The software will automatically rename some usernames. [15]
- A new discussion system for MediaWiki, called "Flow", is under development. Wikimedia designers need your help to inform other users, test the prototype and discuss the interface. [16].
- The Wikimedia Foundation is hiring people to act as links between software developers and users for VisualEditor. [17]
