Madame Bratiano, wife of the Prime Minister of Roumania, was also present, and the Queen of Roumania sent a message expressing her hearty sympathy with the objects of the deputation. The other ladies who took part in the deputation were Madame Alphen Salvador, Madame Puesch, Madame d'Amelio, and Madame Maria Verone. Madame Brigode, the delegate from Belgium, was prevented from attending. The ladies ware received with the utmost cordiality by the Commission, which includes some of the most prominent members of the Peace Conference, including President Wilson and Colonel House, Lord Robert Cecil and General Smuts, M. Bourgeois and M. l'Arnaud, M. Venizelos and many others. President Wilson, as Chairman of the Commission complimented the ladies on the lucidity and brevety with which they had presented their arguments, and assured them that they had the entire sympathy of himself and his colleagues, and if all points were not specificially included, it was because the Covenant was intended to be but, as it were, a skeleton to be filled in later.

The deputation was much gratified by the success of their mission, as it has now been laid down that women shall be eligible for all offices and all bodies set up by the League of Nations, and that they shall be consulted equally with men in the case of any referendum regarding change of nationality. A clause has been also included regarding the suppression of the White Slave Traffic and negotiations are being instituted with the Red Cross regarding the establishment of an International Bureau of Education, as they believe that on rightly directed education, based on democratie principles, rests the future success of the League of Nations.
